to all your questions.

(Well, not all of them. We can’t figure out #4 on that ECON final either.)

It’s a high-quality Tallahassee apartment community designed especially with Florida State University students in mind. Alight West Tenn features furnished 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom apartments plus a full set of community features such as a pool, fitness center, game room and more.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Alight West Tenn has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Alight pays a monthly rental installment with a flat $45 utility/amenity fee that includes:

  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • 50″ flat panel HDTV in each living room
  • High-speed Internet
  • Trash removal
  • 24-hour on-site management

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Each resident must pay an administrative fee for each contract year. This fee is reduced significantly if the resident provides a qualifying guarantor (often a parent) for their financial obligations under Housing Agreement.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Alight West Tenn also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Will my financial aid cover charges at Alight West Tenn?

Your living costs at Alight West Tenn can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Alight. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Alight open to non-students?

Alight is designed and offered for students at Florida State University, Florida A&M University and other local colleges. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Therefore, applications are accepted only from students at one of these local colleges or universities. Alight is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes student residents/families with children. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.
